Learning Centre was established in the year of 1998 initially for the purpose of promoting insurance education and training in the country. Subsequently, the learning centre diversified its activities for promoting banking education and training including training in debt recovery areas. Our objective is to provide education and training in Insurance-both Life and Non-Life branches covering Insurance theory, practice and related subjects to those interested in the Insurance, to facilitate study of theory and practice of Banking and Finance and to promote continuous proffesional development to those who are interested in Banking.

Our organization is being headed by Sri D. Basu, M.Sc, FIA, Actuary, Formerly Zonal Manager, LICI, and our governing bodies include educated and experienced people from the related industries of Banking, Marketing and Insurance.Our Advisory committee includes Prof. Basudeb Barman (Member of Parliament, Former Vice Chancellor, Kalyani University), T.C. Dutt (IAS (Retd.), Formerly Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal) and other personalities from CMD, UBI and educational institutes.

We are indulged in pre licensing training under IRDA regulations, training programmers for LIC development officers and agents, tutorial classes for JAIIB, CAIIB examinations, we also conduct tutorial classes for IIBF's diploma course in Banking & Finance, debt recovery agent training specially designed by IIBF and IBA under RBI regulations and training programmers for adminstrative and marketing people in the Insurance industry.

Learning Centre has conducted several programmes for the marketing people as well as underwriting officers of Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Ltd. since 1999 and is proud of playing its role to develop human resources of neighbouring country, with a noble race of peace loving people.
